About me

As a child, I spent the majority of my free time drawing cartoons and superheroes. I believed that I was destined to become a comic book illustrator, just like Jack Kirby.

As I got older, I didn’t draw as much. Instead, my fascination became music. I began playing guitar as a hobby to try and emulate great musicians like The Beatles and Johnny Cash. In my late teens, I discovered the work of Bob Dylan who I consider one of my favourite writers.

My other passion became writing. I started volunteering for a newspaper, and soon was writing for a magazine and a variety of local companies.

My discovery of advertising felt extremely natural and comforting. It started when I was at Laurier and a friend had suggested that we go on a tour to an ad agency. At first, I was apprehensive, but I heard there was a free lunch. When we walked through the doors, I was amazed with what I saw. Desks with no partitions, a bar sitting in the corner of the office and workers chatting and laughing. I remember the copywriters presenting to us and I felt an incredible jealousy that they got to come up with wild ideas and spend time with inspiring people. I knew that this is where I wanted to be.

Looking back on these experiences I am very optimistic for the future. I am always looking for new things to try and always saying yes to new opportunities. Since my copywriting program ended at Humber, I feel as inspired and prepared as ever to take my first steps into the industry. I know that this is a space where I can excel and create meaningful work.

If you have any questions about my work or want to talk advertising, I am always around for a chat and I would love to hear from you.
